Overall: 4 out of 5, great hop aroma from the Sorachi Ace, soft malt flavor, and crisp carbonic bite
Category: Belgian style Tripel
Appearance: Hazy golden color, non-persistent off-white head
Aroma: Lemon, bubble gum aroma from the Sorachi Ace, nice Belgian yeast ester aroma.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, decent carbonic bite in the finish.
Flavors: Bread dough malt flavor, Belgian yeast phenol/ester flavors. The phenol flavor is interesting, almost latex(ish). This beer absolutely hides its 8.5% ABV!
Aftertaste: I mainly get malt in the aftertaste following the dissipation of the carbonic bite.
Food Pairing: Pair with a zesty salad, the lemon flavors of the Sorachi Ace will play well with a balsamic vinaigrette. This beer would handle white meat with ease.
